The King Kong Apparel logo – Old-school strongman roots..

We have receive a great deal of feedback about the King Kong apparel logo. Most of you have said you love it, others not so much… Regardless of your position on the matter, we thought that we’d explain the background of the “funny looking man with the moustache”. The logo is really a cheeky reflection on the so-called ‘fathers of modern strength training’, with their oversized novelty dumbells and equally oversized moustaches. These were thought of as the ‘fittest’ men of their day – many years before body-building left the realms of ‘fitness’ and and become exhibits of extreme human size. As you can see, our definition of ‘fittest in the world’ has changed a little in the years since then, but the physique is remarkably similar!
